Cabello Reaffirms Constitutional Policy and Highlights Progress in Venezuelan Amnesty Plan

The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, urged a return to a genuine policy in accordance with the Constitution and the law, during a press conference in which he addressed the progress of the amnesty plan promoted by President Nicolás Maduro.

Since November 2015, a total of 895 prisoners have been released, within the framework of an initiative managed by the Venezuelan government.

Cabello referred to the Amnesty Law announced by President Delcy Rodríguez, emphasizing that it must be based on justice and national peace. He also announced a schedule of activities for February, which includes a vigil commemorating the kidnapping of President Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, as well as a national march scheduled for February 3.

In his remarks, the PSUV leader asserted that none of the countries promoted on television are safer than Venezuela, and he emphasized the qualities of the Venezuelan people as hardworking and honest. He called on Venezuelans abroad to return to the country, reiterating:

“We are a peaceful, good-hearted, tranquil, and hardworking nation.” He also highlighted the PSUV’s role as a model for free peoples around the world in terms of organization and awareness.
